Social Work with Justice involved youth
This course prepares students to practice Social Work with justice involved youth. Specifically students will learn to critically examine systemic issues with justice involved youth, identify current crime trends and rehabilitation models. The course focuses on developing theory, knowledge and skills needed for juvenile rehabilitation. It is designed to provide deeper understanding into rehabilitation models and reintegration strategies for justice involved youth with varying risk factors, to successfully reintegrate into society. Students will work on developing an evidence-based correctional program that will address underlying issues, promote prosocial behavior, and reduce recidivism.
